Dr. Janeé Steele is a licensed professional counselor, counselor educator, and diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. Dr. Steele is also the owner and clinical director of Kalamazoo Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, PLLC, where she provides therapy, supervision, and training in CBT. She is the co-author of the book, Black Lives Are Beautiful: 50 Tools to Heal from Trauma and Promote Positive Racial Identity, and author of the upcoming book, Racism and African American Mental Health: Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy to Empower Healing, both published through Routledge. Her training on racism has been one of the American Counseling Association's bestselling products and was featured by the organization as part of its 2022 BIPOC Awareness Month programming. Beyond her scholarly work, Dr. Steele has been recognized as an expert in her community, supporting efforts to address issues such as racial trauma and undue police violence in court and local government systems.
